In this category you can download hundreds of free smartphone themes, which are also called homescreens, for your smartphone. They are used to change the look of all the menus, the desktop and the start menu of your Microsoft smartphone. The themes are a little file package that normally consists of a picture (the new background picture of your smartphones homescreen), and one or two XML files that reorganize the plugins on your homescreen (normally in a way that fits the picture) and change the colors of the menus of your cell phone to a new color scheme.

Get New Plugins For Your Themes

Some of the custom themes require the installation of additional plugins to extend the basic functionality for the homescreen your phone comes with. Such plugins could for example enable you to add a digital clock to your start page or make it possible to animate the background picture of your screen and much more. Most of those smartphone plugins are freeware, but some are only commercially available and have to be bought. We will soon publish a list of all the plugins on this site to help you find the right one.

Setup Instructions For Smartphone Themes

If your homescreen comes as a .hme file you should be able to just right-click on it and select "Send to Device". The homescreen will be transfered and installed on your phone automatically then.

Otherwise, if your homescreen consists of a .xml file and a picture file you have to copy both to the \Storage\Application Data\Home (\IPSM\Application Data\Home if you own a Windows Mobile 2002 Smartphone) folder on your phone. After that you can select the new theme in your smartphone's settings menu.

Create Your Own Smartphone Homescreens

With a little programming knowledge in XML and optionally some knowledge of a graphics program like Photoshop you can easily create your own smartphone themes or customize existing homescreens to your needs. We'll soon publish an in-depth guide on how to do this on this page.
